Stage II
TNM T1, N2, M0 or T2, N1, M0 or T3, N0, M0
The cancer is confined to the stomach wall and does not involve adjacent tissues. The lymph nodes very close to the tumor or in the region around the stomach may be involved.
Standard Treatment This stage is sometimes curable with surgery. As in Stage I, the surgical procedure depends on the location and extent of the tumor. Procedures are the same as for Stage I cancers.
Five-Year Survival T1 or T2, N1 or N2, M0 over 20 percent
T3, N0, M0 under 20 percent
Investigational Same as Stage I (adjuvant chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy).
